Though it went on sale in January of 2007, the new Ford F-350 Super Duty pickup was a 2008 model. In addition to an all-new body (including the touted tailgate step), the new Super Duty also offered an all-new 6.4-liter diesel engine that replaced the previous diesel engine. It was displayed at the 2007 Portland International Auto Show at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon.

2006 Lincoln Mark LT

2006 Lincoln Mark LT at the Portland International Auto Show in Portland, Oregon, on January 28, 2006

Lincoln revived the idea of the luxury pickup once again in 2006. They tried this idea before in 2002 with the short-lived, limited-production Blackwood. Now they were trying again, with the non-limited-production Mark LT. There was no denying what this truck was: a Ford F150 with all the options and Lincoln trim, powered by the F150's top engine, the 300-horsepower 5.4-liter Triton V8.

The Mark LT was actually not even as unique as the Blackwood, but that would just make it more accessible to the same people who had been buying the vehicle the Mark LT was obviously intended to compete with: the Cadillac Escalade EXT.

1946 Hudson Cab Pickup

Hudson introduced 1/2-ton and 3/4-ton Cab Pickups in 1939. After World War II, only the 3/4-ton Cab Pickup returned in 1946 on a 128-inch wheelbase based on the Hudson Super Six, powered by a 102-horsepower 212-cubic-inch inline 6-cylinder engine. Hudson discontinued Cab Pickup production after 1947, with the new “step-down” bodies of 1948, with only a single prototype for a 1948 pickup built. This 1946 Hudson Cab Pickup was photographed at the 2004 Unique Tin Car Show in Longview, Washington.
