The Jeep Patriot was new for 2007. It featured styling that resembles the classic Jeep Cherokee, but the Patriot is actually a smaller compact SUV. It is powered by a 172-horsepower 2.4-liter dual-overhead-cam 4-cylinder engine with a continuously variable transmission. The base Patriot is front-wheel drive, but the model could be equipped with four-wheel drive and other options to meet Jeep's "trail-rated" qualifications.
