Racing Gallery at the 2007 Portland International Auto Show

One of the special features of the 2007 Portland International Auto Show at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon, was a road racing gallery put together by the Oregon Region of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA).

Nick Fluge's 2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 has a top speed of 198 miles per hour and can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds.

John Zupan's Porsche 914/6 is a six cylinder version of Porsche's normally 4-cylinder-powered 914 that was built between 1969 and 1972.

Monte Shelton's 1986 Porsche 962 LeMans Longtail was a Le Mans and International racing car. It is powered by a 650-horsepower 3.2-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine and has a top speed of 226 miles per hour.

Panoz GTS

The Panoz Auto Development Company was founded in 1989 by Danny Panoz. The company is based in Hoschton, Georgia. The company builds high performance sports cars and racing cars. The Panoz GTS is a racing version of the Esperante. As a racing car, the GTS is not street-legal and is intended for track use only. Like the Esperante, the GTS is powered by a Ford V8, in this case producing 430 horsepower in a car weighing just 2,700 pounds. It was displayed at the 2007 Portland International Auto Show at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon.

2005 Panoz Esperante GTLM

The Panoz Auto Development Company was founded in 1989 by Danny Panoz. The company is based in Hoschton, Georgia. The company builds high performance sports cars and racing cars. The Esperante was the main model of the Panoz line. It was available in various forms, as either a street-legal sports car or as a track-only racing car. The cars are powered by modified Ford V8 engines.

I believe this model is a 2005 Panoz Esperante GTLM. It was displayed at the 2007 Portland International Auto Show at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon.

Panoz AIV Roadster

The Panoz Roadster was originally introduced in 1992 featuring aluminum body panels on a steel frame and powered by the Ford 5.0-liter V8 engine from the Ford Mustang. Only 44 Panoz Roadsters were built to the original design through 1995. In 1996, a new version was unveiled with the same aluminum body panels bonded to an aluminum space frame using special adhesives, and the new 4.6-liter 32-valve double-overhead-cam all-aluminum V8 engine and 5-speed manual transmission from the Ford Mustang SVT. This design was approximately 70% aluminum, and was called the Panoz AIV Roadster. The letters "AIV" stand for "Aluminum Intensive Vehicle." The extensive use of aluminum reduced the roadster's weight to 2,570 pounds, and combined with the new engine's 305 horsepower and 300 foot-pounds of torque, gave the AIV Roadster impressive performance, capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 4.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 140 miles per hour, while also delivering fuel economy of 19.9 miles per gallon. A total of 176 Panoz AIV Roadsters were produced through 1999, though some were not sold until 2000.
