The 2006 M5 was a high-performance version of the 5-series, and was BMW's fastest and most powerful offering. Powered by a 500-horsepower 5.0 liter double overhead cam 40-valve V10 engine with a 7-speed sequential manual gearbox, the M5 could accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 4.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 155 miles per hour.
